Santa Cruz Warriors Introduce Plantronics as Founding SponsorNovember 15, 2012 - NBA Development League (D-League) - Santa Cruz Warriors Press Release
"Plantronics has provided us the opportunity to make an impact regarding the quality of life in Santa Cruz County through their efforts to support Second Harvest Food Bank Santa Cruz County and Grind Out Hunger," said Jim Weyermann, president of the Santa Cruz Warriors. "Through their outstanding local leadership, we will be able to leverage many of our team's assets to increase the food donation programs throughout our season. Our goal is to raise an additional 80,000 meals to help support the growing need for food services during these tough economic times."
Plantronics has long been committed to Second Harvest Food Bank Santa Cruz County, and extending that relationship to include the Warriors is a natural fit. Through its generosity, Plantronics has made possible the Santa Cruz Warriors' partnership with local nonprofit Grind Out Hunger, which will help provide access to meals for children and families in need.
Plantronics, Second Harvest Food Bank, Grind Out Hunger and the Santa Cruz Warriors will work together to collect food throughout the basketball season, helping to ensure that Warriors fans are aware of the pressing need in our area. Thanks to Plantronics, Grind Out Hunger will have its own special section at every Santa Cruz Warriors home game, further incorporating local youth in raising food and affecting change in the community.
"We are committed to helping the Santa Cruz Warriors become an important part of the Santa Cruz community and achieve their goal to provide food services to those in need," said Pat Wadors, senior vice president of Human Resources at Plantronics. "Our long history with Second Harvest Food Bank Santa Cruz County and our relationship with Grind Out Hunger makes this a natural fit to bring our resources together with the local community to help those in need of assistance."
