Adirondack Phantoms News Release
Here come the mustaches! As part of "Phantoms Fight Cancer" month in November, Adirondack Phantoms players and staff will be growing mustaches to raise funds as well as awareness for prostate cancer awareness and other men's cancer issues.
Be sure to purchase your "Phantoms Fight Cancer" t-shirts which will be on sale at the merchandise stand at Phantoms home games and in the Adirondack Phantoms office for only $20. For every shirt sold, $5 will be donated to benefit Prostate Cancer survivors, research and facilities in our area. Fans can also buy a special Ticket and a T-Shirt package good for any game in November for only $30.
Wear your t-shirts to the games, especially this month, and help spread the word about this great cause.
Fans get to help in other ways too! They can vote for their favorite players' mustaches by donating money in their name to Movember and local cancer awareness and research groups. We'll have photo updates throughout the month. Check out our facebook, twitter, website and in-game pictures to see your favorite players' mustaches grow. Donate and see more at mobro.co/phantomshockey
We have lots of Phantoms players who have agreed to be part of the fun as they grow their mustaches this month. Thanks to our 19 mustache growers on the Phantoms: Marc-Andre Bourdon, Rob Bordson, Tyler Brown, Sean Couturier, Jeff Dimmen, Cullen Eddy, Zack Fitzgerald, Matthew Ford, Andrew Johnston, Matt Konan, Shane Harper, Cal Heeter, Oliver Lauridsen, Tye McGinn, Scott Munroe, Garrett Roe, Brayden Schenn, Mike
Testwuide and Eric Wellwood. Way to go, guys!
And if you want to grow your own mustache this month and help generate funds, we're all for it. Join in! Post your pictures to our Movember website page and help spread the word about November Mustache Month.
It's Mustache-Mania!
Later this month, we'll have Phantoms Mustache jerseys presented by Parks Heritage Federal Credit Union at our game on November 24th.
Those game-worn jerseys will be auctioned off live after the game with a portion of the proceeds to benefit the C.R. Wood Cancer Center at Glens Falls Hospital.
Between the sporty 'staches the players will have PLUS the mustaches jerseys, we are looking at a potential hockey record for most mustaches on the ice at one time! We believe these are the first "Mustache Jerseys" ever in the American Hockey League.
It is all for a great cause with proceeds going to benefit the Glens Falls Hospital Foundation and the Hudson Headwaters Health Network (HHHN). Also special thanks to the ACS Man to Man program for their partnership in this wonderful venture and to Great Parks Federal Credit Union for their sponsorship of our special mustache jersey later this month with proceeds from the post-game jersey auction benefiting the C.R. Wood Cancer Center at Glens Falls Hospital.
Happy Growing!
