Reno Bighorns Announce New In-Game Hosts

RENO, NEV., October 16, 2012 - After an exciting Facebook contest, the Reno Bighorns have announced that they have hired both Cory Smith and Dreu Murin as the new in-game hosts for the 2012-13 season.

"It was exciting to see the community involvement with the Facebook search for our new in-game host," said Reno Bighorns owner, Herb Santos, Jr. "My partners, Steve and Jeff, and I discussed all of the options and we decided to go 'big' and select both Cory and Dreu."

Fans were able to vote for their favorite candidate on the Bighorns Facebook page last week. Cory and Dreu each created a video to showcase their personality. They each were able to rally hundreds of fans to vote for them. A total of 714 "likes" were cast, with 321 for Cory and 393 for Dreu.

"I am very excited about the opportunity to be the next In-Game host of the Reno Bighorns," said Dreu. "I want to prepare Bighorns fans for the most exciting season yet. Hope to see you all at the games!"

Cory and Dreu will split duties entertaining and pumping up the crowd, as well as interacting with fans at all Bighorns home games. They will be key in the creation of on-court activities, as well as the promotion of new features at Bighorns games.

Cory said, "I'm thrilled that the Bighorns want me to be a part of this. I'm excited to have the opportunity to join the Bighorns family and can't wait to start the season!"

Santos added, "Cory and Dreu showed creativity and ingenuity with their campaigns to be the next Reno Bighorns In-Game Host. We think that they will both bring fun and excitement for our fans. We welcome them and their respective fans to our Reno Bighorns Family."

The Bighorns kick off their fifth season in Reno on Friday, November 30th at the Reno Events Center. Season tickets and group tickets are on sale today. For more information, fans can call 775-853-8220.
