October 15, 2012 - New York-Penn League (NYPL) Lowell Spinners
LOWELL, MASS. - The Lowell Spinners, Class-A Affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, are looking for one local family to welcome one giant Trick-or-Treater to their Halloween festivities as the Spinners' beloved mascot, Canaligator, is looking to join one area fan on their Halloween Trick-or-Treating festivities.Beginning Monday, October 15, fans are asked to post a photo of their "Trick-or-Treater" in costume on the Lowell Spinners Facebook wall (www.facebook.com/SpinnersBaseball/). Canaligator and his friends in the Spinner front office will pick their five favorite "spooky" photos Wednesday, Oct. 24 and the photo amongst the finalists with the most "Likes" between Thursday, Oct. 25 and Monday, Oct. 29 will be declared the winner.
"Outside of baseball, Canaligator's favorite things include high-fives from kids and food," said Spinners President and General Manager Tim Bawmann. "Since Spinners' season ended, Gator has been hard at work on his costume. Combining a night of kids and candy is the perfect way for our favorite gator to cope with the offseason."
All valid contestants must 12-years-old or younger and must be within a 20-mile radius of Lowell. Winner has the option of Canaligator joining him/her and their friends for an hour of Trick-or-Treating or for Canaligator to come to their Halloween Party for a similar time frame. Canaligator will join Trick-or-Treating Wednesday, October 31 from 6 to 7 p.m.
In addition to having Canaligator join in your Halloween Fun, the winner will also receive a special Spinners' prize pack and the remaining four finalists will receive a pair of tickets to a to-be-determined 2013 Lowell Spinners home game.
