October 10, 2012 - National Lacrosse League (NLL) - Washington Stealth News Release

Everett, Wash. - The Washington Stealth announced today the team has partnered with the Washington Chapter of US Lacrosse and the Washington Schoolgirls Lacrosse Association to present a pair of girls' lacrosse clinics featuring the U.S. Women's National Lacrosse Team. The clinics will take place at the Comcast Arena at Everett prior to the Stealth's season opener on January 5.

"The Stealth is thrilled to partner with the Washington Chapter of US Lacrosse and the Washington Schoolgirl's Lacrosse Association on this event," said Stealth General Manager Doug Locker. "Helping grow the game in the Puget Sound region has been a mission of the Stealth since day one and to be able to have the honor to host the U.S. Women's National Lacrosse Team at Comcast Arena is a special privilege. This is a great opportunity to learn from the best women's lacrosse players in the world."

The clinics will be split up into two age groups: elementary and middle school players will take the floor from 12pm to 2pm, followed by high school players from 2-4pm. Players of all skill levels are invited to attend. Members of the U.S. Women's National Team will be on hand to instruct on all aspects of the game, from shooting and passing to offensive and defensive tactics. Following the clinic, participants will be treated to an autograph session and meal with the members of the U.S. National Team.

Along with the clinic and autograph session, participants will receive a U.S. Women's National Team t-shirt and a ticket to the Stealth's 2013 season opener against the Rochester Knighthawks at the Comcast Arena that night.

"We're very excited about the experience that we've been able to organize in partnership with the Washington Stealth and US Lacrosse," said Jason Hennig, President of the Washington Schoolgirls Lacrosse Association. "It will be a fun-filled day for the girls that will showcase some of the best lacrosse from both the men's and women's game. We are fortunate to have a local organization like the Stealth which takes an active role in promoting lacrosse in our communities."

The full day of lacrosse activities costs just $80 per participant. Space is limited to just 50 participants per session. Registration for the event closes on December 13 and is available at www.stealthlax.com/USWNT.

The Stealth's partnership with US Lacrosse-Washington and the WSLA to bring the U.S. Women's National Team to the Comcast Arena is the latest effort of the "We Are Washington Lacrosse" campaign. The campaign is designed to engage the local lacrosse community, create more awareness for Washington lacrosse clubs and generate fundraising opportunities to continue the growth of the game throughout the state.
