
Kravchenko Commits to UMass

Sioux Falls, SD-The Sioux Falls Stampede are proud to announce that forward Dennis Kravchenko (Krav-chink-oh) has committed to the University of Massachusetts for the 2013-14 season. He becomes the ninth player on the Stampede roster to commit to a Division I program.
A native San Clemente, California, Kravchenko is in his first season with the Stampede. He was acquired in a trade with the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders over the summer. Last year, Kravchenko recorded 21 points (8g, 13a) and 67 penalty minutes in 34 games last season. The 5-foot-9, 170-pound center was a 2010 USHL Futures Draft choice of the RoughRiders.
The University of Massachusetts is located in Amherst, Mass., has an enrollment of 24,000 and play in the Hockey East Conference. Former Stampede defenseman Conor Allen is a junior for the Minutemen and assistant coach Joey Gasparini is the younger brother of former Stampede head coach, Tony Gasparini.
The Stampede open the 2012-13 regular season tomorrow (Friday) night in Lincoln against the Stars. Game time is set for 7:05 PM from the Ice Box. The Herd will then travel to Waterloo on Saturday to face the Black Hawks. Both games can be heard live on KELO-AM 1320 or online at www.keloam.com. Fans can also watch the game live on www.ushl.fasthockey.com.
The Herd's home opener is set for next Friday, October 5th at 7:05 PM against the Omaha Lancers. Tickets are on sale now through the Sioux Falls Arena Box Office or any Ticketmaster location.
