
Stampede Come up Short in Fargo

Sioux Falls Stampede News Release
The Fargo Force opened preseason play with a 4-2 win over the Sioux Falls Stampede in front of a crowd of 2,602 at Scheels arena.
Fargo Force forward Stanislav Dzakhov grabbed the first goal near the halfway mark of the first period on an assist from Brendan Harms.
The second period saw plenty of action on both sides of the puck. The Force grabbed another goal early in the second period when defenseman Dominic Racobaldo netted a goal with an assist from forward Dominic Toninato. Shortly before the halfway mark of the second period, the Force struck again to grab a 3-1 lead when forward Matt Pohlkamp scored in his rookie debut with the team.
Sioux Falls put themselves on the scoreboard with a goal by center Cody Milan coming just over twelve minutes into the second period. The Force answered back when Toninato scored late in the second, bringing the lead to 4-1 going into the second intermission.
The Sioux Falls Stampede grabbed their second goal at the 7:01 mark in the third period with a goal by forward Michal Toman, cutting Fargo's lead in half. The Stampede ultimately fell short after a strong showing by the Force, who went on to win the game 4-2.
The Fargo Force continues preseason action next week from September 19-22 at the 2012 USHL Fall Classic held in Sioux City, IA. The team will kick off the regular season at home on September 28 at 7:35 PM verses the Sioux City Musketeers.
