As the team's executive director, Ingles will oversee the business side of the organization, including public relations, promotions and strategic partnerships. Ingles was a split end for the Nebraska Huskers from 1967-70 and was a member of the Huskers' first national championship team.
Former Husker quarterback Runty, who played at Nebraska from 1970-73, also will serve as an executive consultant. He is a longtime Omaha businessman with past interests in several businesses.
Irv Dana of the accounting firm Hancock & Dana has joined the Nighthawks organization as an executive consultant. Dana also is the majority owner of the Lincoln Stars junior ice hockey team.
"We'd like to thank director of football operations Matt Boockmeier, team majority owner Bill Hambrecht and head coach Bart Andrus for welcoming us aboard and giving us this opportunity to enhance the franchise and produce a real credit to the Omaha community and to the United Football League," Ingles said.
Ingles believes the trio's connections in the Omaha business sector will help strengthen the Nighthawks' ties to the region.
"We hope to better incorporate the community into the success of the franchise and solidify the community presence of the Omaha Nighthawks," Ingles said.
