Car Survivor 3 Ends on Rules Violation

August 10, 2012 - Southern League (SL) Huntsville Stars

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - It took just eight days and two hours to go from a "Frog" to a "Champion." Steven "Frog" Hudson outsat, outplayed and outlasted the four other contestants to be crowned Car Survivor 3 winner late Thursday night.

After just a couple days, it was down to two: Gabrielle "Gabby G" Guthrie and Hudson. The two went back-and-forth struggling with the unique situation of drinking the entire gallon of water required to consume every 24 hours and timing the allotted 15-minute bathroom breaks. There were a couple of close calls and a few waddling walks out of the car, but the pee wasn't the problem. Ultimately it was a simple rule violation that forced "Gabby G" out of the car. Minutes before the 9 p.m. break Thursday night, she handed a pack of cigarettes out the car window to the Stars staff member on duty. After reviewing the exchange on the high-definition security cameras, it was clear: a rule had been broken and Gabby must exit the car.

Hudson's lifelines and extensive support staff were on hand to congratulate the new father and new owner of the 2007 Honda Accord as he left the car the ultimate survivor. The Accord from Jerry Damson Honda has leather seats and a V-6 engine. After a thorough cleaning, two DVD monitors and a DVD player will be installed along with a rear spoiler.

Last year's contest lasted just 43 minutes shy of nine full days, remaining the longest Car Survivor competition in Huntsville Stars history.
