Freedoms' KarolinaPliskova and Jordan Kerr fired through the mixed doubles match against Breakers'Anna-Lena Groenefeld and John-Patrick Smith, winning the first set of thenight, 5-2. The Breakers came back with a victory in women's singles as Breakers'Anna-Lena Groenefeld defeated Freedoms player Kristyna Pliskova, 5-3. Freedoms'Luka Gregorc and Jordan Kerr brought in an explosive tie-breaker win againstBreakers' John-Patrick Smith, 5-4.
During halftime, tennislegend Chris Evert refereed a crowd-pleasing match featuring radio celebrityMike Barkann of Daily News Live andsports anchor John Clark of NBC, with help from Freedoms' twins Kristyna andKarolina Pliskova. Freedoms owner Billie Jean King honored members of thecommunity for their integrity with special awards.
The Freedoms took twohuge wins in the fourth and fifth sets, both exciting tie-breaking match ups.During men's singles, the Freedoms' Luka Gregorc defeated Breakers'John-Patrick Smith, 5-4. Kristyna and Karolina Pliskova battled their way to a5-4 victory over the Breakers' Anna-Lena Groenefeld and Jana Juricova.
