Haynes Throws Gem as Bats Come to Life

Laredo, TX - Laredo Lemurs (22-28) starting pitcher Mark Haynes went the distance as the offense got
hot at the same time to beat the Amarillo Sox (28-24) 13-1 at Uni-Trade Stadium on Wednesday night.Haynes threw his first complete game of the year, giving up one run, on four hits, while striking out seven against the American Association top hitting team.
The Lemurs offense also sprung to life picking up back-to-back four run innings. With two out in the fifth Javier Brito started a rally with a homerun over the left field wall to put the Lemurs up 3-1. Three more runs would score in the frame, as the Lemurs would take a 6-1 lead. The Lemurs posted four more runs in the sixth, as they walked four times, and picked up three hits, to help extend the lead 10-1.
Jack Spradlin took the loss against the Lemurs throwing four and two thirds, giving up six runs, on 10 hits. It was Spadlins fourth outing of the year against the Lemurs and his second loss against to the club.
The Lemurs will welcome the Amarillo Sox into Uni-Trade Stadium tomorrow night to start a four game series. The Lemurs are home through July 17th .
