Sena Returns from Tacoma, Stanton to High Desert

MONTGOMERY, ALA. (JULY 9, 2012) - The Seattle Mariners have made the following roster move that effects the Jackson Generals roster. RHP Jandy Sena has been activated today from Triple-A Tacoma and RHP Taylor Stanton has been sent down to A+ High Desert to make room. Sena is activated for tonight's game at Montgomery and will wear jersey #43. Tonight the Generals conclude their 2-city, 6-game road trip with the rubber match of the series with Montgomery. The Generals return home Wednesday to begin a 3-game series with the Mississippi Braves at Pringles Park.

. RHP Taylor Stanton

SENA, 22, returns from Triple-A Tacoma, where he has made 2 appearances and 1 start. His numbers in Tacoma are 0-0, with a 5.06 ERA. Both appearances came against Salt Lake. With Jackson, Sena is 1-1, with a 3.66 ERA in 18 games, 1 start. Sena began the season with A+ High Desert appearing in 3 games, going 1-0, with a 2.25 ERA. The 6'6" righty from Miami, FL was the Mariners 23rd round draft choice in 2010.

STANTON, 24, returns to High Desert where he made 13 appearances, 4 starts. Stanton was promoted to Jackson on May 29th, when James Paxton was placed on the DL. Stanton was 1-2, with a 10.22 ERA with the A+ Mavericks of the California League. With the Generals, Stanton is 3-2, with a 5.53 ERA, making 4 starts and 4 relief appearances. The San Francisco native was drafted by the Mariners in the 26th round of the 2008 draft out of St. Mary's (CA).
