North Canton Hoover Alum, Miami RedHawks Standout Jessica Simpson to Face Racers Monday, June 4

AKRON, Ohio - May 31, 2012 - The Akron Racers are pleased to announce that Miami University (Ohio) standout pitcher Jessica Simpson will be pitching for the NE Ohio Collegiate All-Star team that is slated to face the Racers in an exhibition game at Firestone Stadium on Monday, June 4.

Simpson will join seniors from other universities across Ohio to compete against the Racers on Monday with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m. ET at Firestone Stadium.

Fellow Miami Redhawk Jordan McElroy (OF), University of Akron catcher Allison Dorr and right fielder Alex Helfrich, Ashland University's Alyssa Kelley (3B), Emlyn Knerem (P) and Bri Woody (SS), Kent State University's Jess Blanton (C/3B), Lauren Nacke from Dayton University (DH/1B/OF), Haley Thomas (OF) and Jordan Ingalls (OF) from Youngstown State will all join Simpson on the Collegiate All-Stars squad.
