Davidson Earns SL Hitter of the Week

Mobile BayBears Professional Baseball, the AA affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks, announced today that 3B Matt Davidson has been named the Southern League Hitter of the Week for the week ending on May 13.
Davidson, 21, lead the BayBears in six wins over the last seven days. Davidson batted .333, going 7-for-21 at the plate, drilling four extra base hits, which were highlighted with three home runs. Adding to the offense, Davidson drove in seven runs and drew three walks.
Davidson was selected by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the first round of the 2009 First-Year Player Draft as the 35th overall pick. Davidson has contributed to the BayBears' 24-14 start, which is the best overall record in the Southern League. Through the first 38 games of 2012, Davidson has a .318 batting average with eight home runs and 24 RBI.
