Southern Illinois Miners News Release
MARION, Ill. - Gabe Shaw from Paducah, KY has been resigned by the Southern Illinois Miners.
Shaw joined the Miners as a rookie mid-season in 2011 following his career at University of the Louisville. Shaw played a major role in Louisville's bullpen for the last 4 seasons, appearing in 104 games. Shaw returns to the Miners following an impressive rookie season. In 19 games he compiled a 3.51 era, struck out 30 in 33.3 innings and walking only 5 batters. Shaw, finishing strong, gave up runs in just two of the last 11 games.
"Gabe did a tremendous job for us last year. He got better and more confident with each appearance," said Miners Manager Mike Pinto. "Gabe's best pitching is ahead of him. He will be an important part of our bullpen this season."
