Texas Legends News Release
Frisco, TX JAN. 18, 2012 - The Texas Legends continued their strong play at home beating the Tulsa 66ers, 108-103, for their sixth win at Dr Pepper Arena in the last eight games.
Dominique Jones and Sean Williams, both on assignment by the Dallas Mavericks, lived up to their first round pick status dominating the Tulsa 66ers.
Williams was incredibly efficient connecting on 13 of 17 field goals for a team high 28 points. Jones kept the Legends in attack mode by getting to the free throw line 15 times while cashing in on 13 points from the charity stripe.
Tulsa was able to keep the game competitive behind a strong performance by Dwight Buycks. Buycks came off the bench to score a game high 30 points on 12 of 18 attempts.
Marcus Lewis cleaned up the glass, again, grabbing 16 rebounds while registering a double-double with 10 points.
For just the second time this season, the Legends shot better than 50.0, an impressive number considering Texas struggled from the outside, making only three of 17 from long range.
Texas (9-13) plays the Canton Charge (10-11) on Friday for American Heart Association Night presented by HP at 7:00PM in Dr Pepper Arena for their second game of a six game home stand.
