Oshawa Power and Head Coach Mark Strickland Part Ways

(OSHAWA, ON) Durham's Team the Oshawa Power has announced that the professional basketball team and Head Coach Mark Strickland have decided to mutually part ways in the best interests of the team and thank him for his efforts.

"We appreciate all that Coach Strickland has done for this organization," said Gary Durrant, President of Basketball Operations. "We wish him all the best in his future endeavours."

David "D.J." Joseph, father of NBA player Cory Joseph and University of Oregon point guard Devoe Joseph will assume the role of Associate Head Coach until an interim Head Coach is named.

Joseph is a fixture in Durham Region basketball community having assisted the Pickering Trojans Senior Boys Basketball team for several years, including stints when Cory and Devoe guided Pickering to back-to-back provincial basketball titles.

Joseph brings a wealth of basketball experience and his strong ties to Durham Region are a positive for the Oshawa Power franchise.

Next up for the Power is a game vs. the Summerside Storm at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday December 22 as Morgan Lewis returns to the lineup after missing 10 games due to injury.
