Toros Outlast Legends

Frisco, TX DEC. 15, 2011 - The Legends produced a number of personal season highs, but it wasn't enough as the Austin Toros survived a tight match-up 118-115.

Vance Cooksey was sensational delivering 16 assists at the point guard position while pouring in 24 points. Booker Woodfox scored 20+ points for the fifth game in row, registering a season high 29 points against the Toros.

Bench play proved to be the difference in the game as the Legends were outscored 51-24 by the reserves. Eric Dawson for the Toros was the hot hand, making 10 of 15 shots for a team high 25 points off the bench.

Texas controlled the boards 49-42, in thanks to Ronald Allen who ripped down 16 rebounds for his season high while contributing 14 points and two blocks.

The Toros made the best of the charity stripe connecting on 90.6% of their free throws for 29 points on the night. Texas managed only 69.9% from the stripe, connecting on 16 of 23 attempts.

Texas loses their fifth straight to fall to 1-7 on the season, while the Toros improve to 5-2. The Legends now return to Frisco where they'll face the Rio Grande Valley Vipers (5-4) on Saturday the 17th.
