
Generals' Christian Thomas Named CHL Player of the Week

Toronto, ON - The Canadian Hockey League today announced that Christian Thomas of the Oshawa Generals is the CHL Player of the Week for the week ending December 4 after scoring nine points in just two games with three goals and six assists and a plus-minus rating of plus-6.
Thomas began the week with his best offensive performance of the season Friday recording a five-point game in an 8-4 win over the Sarnia Sting. Named first star of the contest, Thomas scored a natural hat-trick in a span of just three minutes and 34 seconds during the first period and later picked up two assists in a 43 second span of the third period. His week wrapped up with a second star performance in a 9-1 win over the Peterborough Petes on Sunday where he recorded the first four-assist game of his career.
Thomas, a 19-year-old from Toronto, ON, is playing in his fourth OHL season. The New York Rangers prospect was selected 40th overall in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft and has 11 goals and 13 assists for 24 points in 20 games so far this season. Thomas has also been invited to Canada's National Junior Team Selection Camp which opens December 10 in Calgary, AB.
Also considered for the award this week was Michael St. Croix of the Edmonton Oil Kings who scored three goals and five assists for eight points in three games, while Jerome Gauthier-Leduc of the Rimouski Oceanic scored four goals and three assists for seven points in two games.
