
Quick Is MeiGray Group ECHL Alumnus of the Month

PRINCETON, N.J.- Former ECHL and current Los Angeles Kings goaltender Jonathan Quick is The MeiGray Group ECHL Alumnus of the Month for October.
The leading distributor of game-worn hockey jerseys and "Official Game-Worn Jersey Source of theECHL," MeiGray sold more than 700 game-worn jerseys in 2010-11 and has sold more than 6,000 since it became "The Official Game-Worn Jersey Source of the ECHL" in 2002-03.
The 25-year-old was 6-1-2 with three shutouts, a 1.52 goals-against average and a save percentage of .947 in nine games for the Kings in October. The highlight of Quick's month was setting a Kings record with three consecutive shutouts - stopping 27 shots against St Louis on Oct. 18, and making 28 saves in back-to-back wins against Phoenix on Oct. 20 and Dallas on Oct. 22. He played 188:10 without allowing a goal, breaking the club's 35-year record. Quick allowed three goals or less in each of his nine appearances in October.
Quick leads the NHL with three shutouts, is second with a 1.52 goals-against average and a .947 save percentage and ranks fourth with six wins.
The Milford, Conn. native appeared in 38 games for Reading in the 2007-08 season going 23-11-3 with one shutout, a 2.79 goals-against average and a save percentage of .905. He became the ninth goaltender in ECHL history to score a goal on Oct. 24, 2007 against Pensacola.
Selected in the third round (72nd overall) by Los Angeles in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, Quick has appeared in 189 career games for the Kings posting a record of 102-67-14 with 17 shutouts, a 2.39 goals-against average and a save percentage of .913.
There have been 469 players who have played in the NHL after playing in the ECHL including two who have made their debut this season and 23 in 2010-11. The ECHL has had 277 players reach the NHL since 2002-03 when it changed its focus to become the primary developmental league for the NHL and the AHL. The ECHL had 97 players reach the NHL in its first 10 seasons and 215 in the first 15 years. There have been 213 ECHL players who have played their first game in the last seven seasons for an average of more than 30 per year.
