Kalamazoo's Sova Is AMI Graphics ECHL Plus Performer of the Month

PRINCETON, N.J. - Kalamazoo Wings defenseman Joe Sova is the AMI Graphics ECHL Plus Performer of the Month for October after leading the league with a plus-minus rating of +8.

Sova was even or better in all five games in October, including a +5 performance in a 6-5 win over Cincinnati on Oct. 29. After posting an even rating in his first two games of the month, Sova posted his +8 rating over the course of the final three games of October.

The 23-year-old Sova is in his first professional season and has two goals in five games. He made his pro debut last season appearing with the American Hockey League's Albany Devils scoring four points (1g-3a) in 11 games. Sova played three seasons at the University of Alaska-Fairbanks scoring 58 points (13g-45a) in 115 games.

In recognition of his accomplishment, AMI Graphics will present Joe Sova with a personalized Plus Performer of the Month Banner during an on-ice ceremony at an upcoming K-Wings' home game.
