Skyforce to Host 2011 NBA Development League Draft Party

Sioux Falls, S.D. (Oct. 25, 2010) - The Sioux Falls Skyforce will hold their 2011 NBA Development League Draft party at Heather Ridge Village (6201 S. Old Village Pl.) on Thursday, Nov. 3 beginning at 5:45 p.m.

Skyforce coaches, front office staff, Skyleaders and Thunder will be in attendance and several great prizes will be given away throughout the evening. Complimentary food and beverage will be provided.

The Los Angeles D-Fenders will have the first overall pick followed by the Austin Toros, Maine Red Claws, Sioux Falls Skyforce, Texas Legends, Bakersfield Jam (from Iowa), Erie BayHawks, Bakersfield Jam, Erie BayHawks (from Idaho), Fort Wayne Mad Ants, Tulsa 66ers, Dakota Wizards, Bakersfield Jam (from Reno), Rio Grande Valley Vipers, Canton Charge and Tulsa 66ers (from Springfield).

The NBA D-League Draft utilizes a "serpentine" format, meaning the order will alternate in each of the eight rounds. For example, the team picking last in the first round will select first in the second round, giving them the 16th and 17th overall choices.

In addition to the fourth overall pick, Sioux Falls will select 36th, 61st, 68th, 93rd, 100th and 125th overall in the 128-player draft. Sioux Falls traded their second-round draft pick to Erie last season in exchange for guard Maureece Rice.

Season tickets and 12-ticket flex packs for the 2011-12 season are on sale. Discounts and benefits are available for groups of 10 or more. Single game tickets will go on sale on Monday, Nov. 14 at 10 a.m. The home opener is set for Saturday, Nov. 26 against the defending NBA D-League champion Iowa Energy.
