Texas Legends News Release
Frisco, TX, OCT. 7, 2011 - Power Forward Matt Rogers, who was the Legends first-ever draft pick, has signed with the Texas Legends for the upcoming year. Rogers, a 6'11" forward out of Southwest Baptist University, started 14 games for the Legends in 2010-11 season as he averaged 7.4 points per game and 4.3 rebounds per game.
"Matt is a very skilled post player with tremendous potential," commented Legends Assistant General Manager Nancy Lieberman. "His ability to shoot the basketball provides match-up problems, and I look forward to seeing his continued development. I fully expect to see Matt in the NBA someday soon."
Rogers, as well as Legends guard Justin Dentmon, was recently selected to participate in USA Basketball's training camp for the upcoming Pan American games.
The Legends recently announced that all center courtside seats for the 2011-12 season have been sold. Only a handful of premium seats remain, and performance opportunities such as halftime acts and national anthem choirs have also become very limited.
