August 24, 2011 - West Coast League (WCL)
Cowlitz Black Bears News Release

The Cowlitz Black Bears of the West Coast League today announced that Head Coach Bryson LeBlanc will not return for a third season with Cowlitz. Bryson has accepted a full time paid coaching position with UC Riverside. LeBlanc will be the recruiting coordinator and assistant coach for UC Riverside.

"I'm really excited for Bryson and know he will do a great job at UC Riverside. Bryson is energetic, knows the game, and has the contacts to bring top HS and JC players to UC Riverside." said Black Bears GM Grant Wilson.

The Black Bears, I have a very specific idea of what we need for the Black Bears to progress. With the help of some people I trust, we should have an announcement very soon. Recruiting for the 2012 season is already under way and we need to get a jump on it.

General Manager Grant Wilson has consulted with Oregon Head Coach George Horton, WCL officials including Dan Segel and Ken Wilson, and owner Tony Bonacci to find the next Head Coach of the Black Bears. The interviewing process has already begun and an announcement is expected within a week.
