Quad City Mallards News Release
MOLINE, Ill. (July 29, 2011) - The Quad City Mallards of the "AA" Central Hockey League today announced they have traded goaltender Adam Russo to the Wichita Thunder in exchange for future considerations.
Russo, 28, went 15-13-0 with a 2.88 goals against average, a .919 save percentage and one shutout in 29 games after joining the Mallards last October.
"We would have liked Adam to stay and made every effort to keep him, but he wanted to move on and we have accommodated his wishes. We wish him the best of luck," said Mallards head coach and general manager David Bell.
Russo started last season in Italy with Cortina SG. The Montreal native spent most of his first five seasons in Europe before first returning to North America with the International Hockey League's Port Huron Icehawks in 2009-10.
Season tickets for the Flock's 2011-12 campaign are now on sale. Mallards season ticket holders receive significant savings and a host of exclusive benefits. For more season ticket information, fans can contact the Mallards at (309) 277-1364 or tickets@myqcmallards.com.
