Lancaster JetHawks News Release
(ADELANTO, CA) - Jose Cisnero struck out 11 batters and David Flores continued his blistering road trip as the Lancaster JetHawks defeated the High Desert Mavericks 13-6 Friday night at Mavericks Stadium. The JetHawks (9-13, 37-55) have now won back-to-back road games and finish their final trip to Adelanto having won six of the 11 games at Mavericks Stadium.
Cisnero tip toed out of trouble, getting key strike outs to escape a pair of bases-loaded jams. That allowed Lancaster's offense to take the lead. They did that in the second inning when Flores launched a home run over the left-field wall that put Lancaster up 2-0. It was Flores' fourth home run in a span of five at bats in the series.
The lead expanded to 5-0 when Adam Bailey hit a three-run homer in the third inning. It was the first in Bailey's career-high four hits on the night.
The Mavericks battled back twice to get to within two runs but Bailey and Flores kept the JetHawks in front. Besides his four hits, Bailey drove in four runs and scored three times. Flores had four hits for a second straight night, driving in four runs with his homer and three doubles.
Flores is now just two doubles from entering the JetHawks Franchise top five in most doubles.
After splitting the series with the Mavericks, the JetHawks will continue their road trip Saturday night as they open a three game series in Lake Elsinore against the Storm. Zach Grimmett (4-5) will start for Lancaster against Jose De Paula (6-4). The game starts at 7:05 and will be broadcast live on radio by 87.7 Kickin' Country and online at CSN at JetHawks.com (click the listen live link). The Pre-Game Show starts at 6:50.
The JetHawks return home Wednesday, July 20 to open a six-game homestand against the High Desert Mavericks and the Lake Elsinore Storm. For tickets and other information, call (661) 726-5400 or visit JetHawks.com.
