New Bloomington CHL Team Extends Qualifying Offers to Six Players

The new Bloomington Professional Hockey Team of the Central Hockey League announced today that they have extended qualifying offers to six players who played in Bloomington during the 2010-11 CHL season. The players that have received the qualifying offers are goaltender Marco Emond, defensemen Aaron Dawson and Alan Mazur, and forwards Jon Booras, Jason Dale, and Brett Holmberg.

Marco Emond appeared in 44 games last season, posting a record of 25-15-2-1. Emond posted a goals against average of 2.89, a save percentage of 89.9%, and earned one shutout. Defenseman Aaron Dawson played in 50 games, earning 12 points (4 goals & 8 assists) and had a solid plus/minus rating of +11. Alan Mazur was named to the 2010-11 CHL All Rookie Team as a defenseman. Mazur had a fine rookie season with 6 goals and 26 assists in 65 games. Mazur had an excellent plus/minus rating of +15. Forward Jason Dale was the team's leading scorer with 52 points in 63 games. Dale tallied 17 goals and 35 assists and was the MVP in the CHL's All-Star Game. Veteran forward Jon Booras scored 20 goals and 29 assists good for 49 points in 58 games. Booras had 8 power play goals and 5 game winning goals. Rounding out the list is forward Brett Holmberg who led the team in goals scored with 23 and added 21 assists. Holmberg had 4 shorthanded goals.

The Bloomington professional hockey team will be playing in the fourteen team Central Hockey League beginning in October, 2011. Bloomington will be in the league's Turner (Northern) Conference along with the Fort Wayne Komets, Dayton Gems, Quad City Mallards, Missouri Mavericks, Rapid City Rush, and Evansville IceMen.
