
Two Vipers Guards Working out for Timberwolves

MCALLEN, TEXAS - The NBA Development League Rio Grande Valley Vipers announced Thursday that guards Jerel McNeal (6-3, 200, Marquette) and Matt Janning (6-4, 198, Northeastern) are attending free agent workouts with the Minnesota Timberwolves on Thursday and Friday.
An All-NBA Development League Third Team selection, McNeal averaged 19.4 points, 3.9 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 1.3 steals while starting 47 games during the regular season. The only three games he missed came during a GATORADE Call-Up to the New Orleans Hornets. He did not see any action during his 10 days in the NBA. During the post-season McNeal averaged 27.6 points, 7.0 rebounds, 6.5 assists and 1.2 steals in eight games.
Janning opened the season with the Phoenix Suns before joining the Maine Red Claws. The Vipers acquired him in a trade in January. Overall, Janning averaged 9.7 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists while shooting 41.6% from behind the arc in 41 games (10 starts). During the post-season, Janning averaged 13.6 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.6 assists while shooting 42.3% from behind the arc in eight games (seven starts).
