Northern Kentucky River Monsters News Release

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, KY - Over the last six years, Jill Chitwood has experienced nearly every aspect of indoor football. There are only two levels she has yet to take on, playing and ownership. She can now scratch one of those two off her list.

Effective immediately, Chitwood will take over duties as owner of the Northern Kentucky River Monsters. The team will start its inaugural season on February 25 at Canton, and will play their home games at the Bank of Kentucky Center on the campus of Northern Kentucky University.

"Being the new ownership for the NKY River Monsters is a dream come true," said Chitwood. "I have worked in arena football for six years, in many positions from photographer up to Director of Football Operations, but never thought I would actually get the chance to own a team."

In 2006, she started with the Marion Mayhem as their photographer and then, a year later was promoted to Office Manager. Starting in 2008 through 2010, Chitwood was Director of Football Operations. She prides herself on making the fans time spent at a game a true experience for all ages.

She joined the front office of the River Monsters as the Director of Game Day Operations before the opportunity to become owner was presented to her.

"I am so excited for the upcoming season," said Chitwood. " I have a great head coach, Rodney Swanigan, who I have worked with now for five years and my general manager Jared Lorenzen has great NFL experience from the NY Giants and arena experience with the Kentucky Horseman. I expected to see great things come from this relationship and this organization."

Chitwood graduated from Marion Technical College with a Business Administration Degree and has won the Red Cross Clara Barton Spectrum Award for Women for Humanitarian Service in Marion, Ohio.

She lives in Marion, Ohio and is married to Wayne, who is also involved with the team, and they have two children, Patrick, 22, and Kelly, 20.
