Fort Lauderdale Strikers News Release

Fort Lauderdale, FL (February 8, 2011) - The Strikers announced today that they have resigned forward/midfielder Martin Nu=B1ez, midfielder Lennon Celestino, and forward Brian Shriver for the 2011 season. Per team policy, terms of the deals have not been disclosed.

"We are happy to have all three players back. Lennon brings a strong defensive midfield presence. Both Brian and Martin give us good attacking options. Both are versatile enough to play forward or attacking midfield. Again we are happy to have all three players as we continue to maintain our core group from last season," said Head Coach Daryl Shore.

Nu=B1ez, 23, started his professional career in 2008 with the Carolina RailHawks. The South Florida native immediately made an impact on the team, and in twenty-eight games he scored five goals, being later named a finalist for the Rookie of the Year award. One year later, he joined the Puerto Rico Islanders where he helped the team reach the 2009 CFU Club Championship.

Lennon, 19, was part of the developmental squad at Desportivo Brasil, part of the Traffic Sports network of Clubs, before he signed with Miami FC during the 2010 season, where he made eight appearances in the season.

Shriver, 23, is a Clearwater, Florida native who played his college soccer at the University of North Carolina. FC Dallas later drafted him in the second round. He scored four goals in twenty-nine appearances last season for Miami FC.
