RENO, Nev.- The Reno Bighorns traded forward Patrick Ewing, Jr. to the Sioux Falls Skyforce in exchange for G/F Danny Green, a 2009 NBA Draft second round pick (46th overall) of the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Green, who was a member of the 2009 NCAA-champion North Carolina Tar Heels, is the winningest player in UNC history. He is also the only player in ACC history with 1,000 points, 500 rebounds, 250 assists, 150 three-pointers, 150 blocks and 150 steals.
The Bighorns completed the trade with the Skyforce after Sioux Falls claimed Green from the available player pool.
Ewing, Jr. had started Reno's first 25 games before coming off the bench Sunday at Iowa. He was averaging 15.8 points per game and 8.4 rebounds per game with Reno. He also had recorded eight double-doubles this season, good for 10th in the league.
Green will be in action Wednesday morning at 9 a.m. PT, when Reno squares off against the Austin Toros in Cedar Park, Texas. The game can be seen live on NBA Futurecast online at nba.com/dleague.
The Bighorns return home on Friday, January 28, against the Bakersfield Jam. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. PT, and tickets are on sale now. Fans can purchase tickets by calling (775) 284-2622 or visiting ticketmaster.com or the Silver Legacy box office.
