SANDY, Utah (Friday, September 3, 2010) - Real Salt Lake (11-4-7, 40 pts.; 2nd in West) will return to the friendly confines of Rio Tinto Stadium on Saturday, September 4, when the defending MLS Cup champs will look to stymie the star power of the New York Red Bulls (11-7-4, 37 pts.; 2nd in the East). Kickoff for the contest, presented by XanGo, is set for 7:00 p.m. MT in Sandy, and the first 2,000 kids ages 14-and-under will receive a Jamison Olave Growth Chart, courtesy of Zions Bank.

Tickets in High Demand for Saturday's Showdown

Saturday's game marks the solitary visit to the Beehive State for the former UEFA Champions League & FIFA Club World Cup champion Thierry Henry, prolific striker Juan Pablo Angel, and the rest of the Red Bulls. Tickets for the high-profile contest are selling fast but remain available and can be purchased online at www.RealSaltLake.com and www.RioTintoStadium.com, over the phone at 801-727-2700, and in person at the Rio Tinto Stadium Box Office until 6:00 p.m. on Friday and on gameday beginning at 10:00 a.m. MT.

Carnival Real Kicks off Saturday Night's Entertainment at 5:00 p.m.

Saturday's excitement will get a boost as the popular Carnival Real pre-game festival will open up on the East Lawn of Rio Tinto Stadium two hours before kickoff at 5:00 p.m. MT. XanGo presents Saturday's Carnival Real, while several other RSL partners will also be on hand to get fans ready to "Toro Bravo!" the Red Bulls:

In addition, fans will be able to stop by the ESPN700 tent on the Northeast Concourse and get ready for the night's action by listening in to the America First Credit Union Pre-game Report with hosts Spencer Checketts and Spencer Warne, beginning at 6:00 p.m.

Amie Schaeffer Honored as Saturday's RSL/American Express "Heroes Among Us"

Real Salt Lake and American Express are proud to recognize Amie Schaeffer of Sandy as Saturday's recipient of the American Express "Heroes Among Us" award. Ms. Schaeffer has dedicated countless hours over the past three years to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, helping to raise awareness of the disease by participating in radio and news interviews to generate MS awareness across the Utah Valley, in addition to organizing the "Walk MS" event in Salt Lake City. More than 4,000 people participate in the event every year, and Amie has been a Walk MS team captain for the past three, helping her team raise money to support and fund vital MS research.

Not only has Amie sacrificed her time for this cause, but she knows personally how MS can affect those afflicted after being diagnosed with MS herself, only after first being incorrectly diagnosed with a brain tumor and going through the subsequent delicate surgery. The wife and mother of two volunteers her time and efforts because she knows she can make a difference in the lives of people and families affected by MS. For her tireless efforts to raise awareness in support of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, and for her courage in her own battle with MS, Real Salt Lake and American Express proudly congratulate Amie Schaeffer for being a true "Hero Among Us."
