Worcester Sharks News Release
Worcester Sharks President Michael A. Mudd announced that the Worcester Sharks and the SMG-managed DCU Center will host a Blood Drive on Friday, August 20, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. inside the Convention Center lobby. The Worcester Sharks have hosted a Blood Drive annually at the DCU Center since the team's inaugural season in 2006. The Sharks are providing game tickets as incentive for donors, and the American Red Cross is kindly making arrangements to supply all staffing and equipment needs for this special community event.
Adam Edelstein, Blood Donor Recruiter for The American Red Cross stated, "The Worcester Sharks and The DCU Center team step up each year to support the American Red Cross with a Super Summer Blood Drive. They really step up and help us during our most difficult time of the year for blood collection. The need for blood at area hospitals remains constant however the summer months are the toughest since so many people are on vacation and doing other things."
Michael A. Mudd, Worcester Sharks President, stated, "The Sharks have a terrific partnership with the American Red Cross and we are excited to take part of this Blood Drive for the fifth straight year." Mudd continued, "We look forward to see each donor at a Worcester Sharks hockey game next season at the DCU Center as we defend our Atlantic Division regular season championship crown."
Each presenting donor will receive a voucher for a free pair of tickets to a 2010-11 Worcester Sharks Regular Season Home Game. As an added bonus, all Red Cross blood donors throughout the month of August will receive a voucher for a free box of Chocolate Covered Strawberries from Edible Arrangements plus register to win a pair of Red Sox tickets as a Blood Donor of the Game. Limited curbside parking outside the Convention Center on Major Taylor Boulevard will be available for donors. Donors should enter Door #2 of the Convention Center.
