Real Salt Lake News Release

SANDY, Utah (Friday, July 23, 2010) - Real Salt Lake (9-4-3, 30 pts.) will look to begin a new winning streak in League play while also trying to continue its 18-match undefeated streak in MLS play tomorrow, Saturday, July 24, when the defending MLS champs will welcome "Class of 2005" running mate Chivas USA (4-9-2, 14 pts.) to Rio Tinto Stadium. The Claret-and-Cobalt's annual Pioneer Day contest is set for an 8:00 p.m. MT kickoff in Sandy and will be followed by a post-match fireworks celebration, which along with the match will be presented by Salt Lake Regional Medical Center.

A limited amount of tickets for tomorrow night's match are still available and can be purchased online at www.RealSaltLake.com and www.RioTintoStadium.com, over the phone at 801-727-2700, and in person at the Rio Tinto Stadium Box Office until 6:00 p.m. on Friday and beginning at 10:00 a.m. MT on gameday.

Fans that can't make it out to Sandy tomorrow night can follow the action live on KUTV2 (over-the-air 2.1, Comcast 2 and 654 HD, Dish Network 2 & Directv 2) or by tuning in to RSL's official radio partners - ESPN 700 (English), ESPN Deportes 1600-AM and Homero 106.1-FM (Spanish). RSL's Official Twitter feed will also provide constant updates throughout the contest at www.Twitter.com/RealSaltLake.

Saturday's holiday match-up will close out the home-and-away season series between the expansion classmates, with RSL looking for the sweep after notching a 2-1 victory over the Goats at The Home Depot Center back on May 22. In that match, Chris Wingert's first MLS goal near the half was countered 10 minutes from time by Salt Lake City native Justin Braun, but substitute striker Fabian Espíndola put the visitors up once again with an 89th minute tally, giving the Utahns back the full three points. When factoring in postseason play, Real Salt Lake is now 6-9-4 against Chivas USA, including a 4-2-2 record in games contested in the Beehive State.
