Sioux Falls Stampede News Release

The Minnesota Wild announced today that former Stampede star defenseman Nate Prosser has re-signed with the club for one-year, two-way deal at $650,000.

Prosser signed a contract with the Wild towards the end of last season, but had to sign a one-year deal that expired today because he came straight out of college. Prosser played in three games with the Wild last season, posting one assist. Prior to that he played collegiate hockey at Colorado College.

Prosser is expected to participate in the Wild's training camp and could either make the team or start the season in Houston with the Wild's top AHL affiliate.

Prosser played in Sioux Falls from 2003 to 2006 and was captain of the Herd's Anderson Cup championship team in 2005-06 when he led the squad in defensive scoring with 30 points and a plus-30 rating. He was named to the Stampede's All-Decade team in 2009 and is a fan favorite.

Prosser went on to play four years of collegiate hockey at Colorado College before signing with the Wild. He was one of 12 former players at Stampede tryout camp in June and was part of the Minnesota Wild road tour that stopped in Sioux Falls last week.
