
Stampede's Isackson selected by Buffalo in NHL draft!

Sioux Falls, SD - Incoming Stampede forward Christian Isackson was selected by the Buffalo Sabres in the NHL draft today in Los Angeles. He becomes the 25th Stampede player to be drafted by and NHL club.
Isackson spent this past season playing at St. Thomas Academy in Minnesota where he finished second on the team in scoring with 57 points (25g, 32a) in 26 games with the Cadets. He led the team in powerplay goals with nine.
Isackson was a second round draft choice of the Herd's during the 2008 Futures Draft and recently participated in the Stampede's tryout camp in Minneapolis. He has already committed to attend the University of Minnesota.
He becomes the third Stampede player to be drafted by the Sabres. Thomas Vanek was taken fifth overall in 2003 and Corey Tropp was taken in the third round in 2007.
Isackson will report to Sioux Falls at the end of August when training camp for the 2010-11 season begins.
