
Witt, 2 Affiliate Players Listed On NHL Central Scouting Final Rankings

Sioux Falls, SD-NHL Central Scouting has released its final rankings of draft-eligible players in advance of the 2010 NHL Draft. The list includes one current Stampede player and two players on the Stampede's affiliate roster which is compiled of players selected during the USHL "Futures Draft." The affiliate list is a roster of 12 players that a team is allowed to protect in addition to their 23-man roster.
Clay Witt ranks 17th overall amongst North American goaltenders, two spots up from his mid-season ranking of 19. Affiliate forward Jason Clark is listed at 81st overall while fellow forward Christian Isackson is ranked 166th overall amongst North American skaters.
NHL Central Scouting complies separate rankings for draft-eligible North American skaters and goaltenders and European skaters and goaltenders. The North American list ranks 210 skaters and 30 goaltenders.
Witt finished the regular season with a 24-12-7 record, a 2.66 GAA and a .906 save percentage. He led all USHL goaltenders with six shutouts while ranking fourth in wins (24), fourth in saves (1104), fourth in minutes played (2570:39)and fifth in save percentage (.906).
The Tampa, FL native participated in the 2010 USHL All-Star Game and has already committed to Northeastern University for the 2010-11 season.
Clark is a senior at Shattuck-St. Mary's Preparatory School in Minnesota where he tallied 46 points (23g, 23a) in 54 games. Shattuck-St. Mary's went 42-11-4 on the season. Clark posted 16 points (8g, 8a) in 15 games while playing in the Upper Midwest High School Elite League earlier in the year. Clark will play collegiate hockey at the University of Wisconsin.
Isackson is a senior at St. Thomas Academy (MN) where he finished second on the team in scoring with 57 points (25g, 32a) in 26 games with the Cadets. He led his squad with nine powerplay goals during the season. Isackson has already committed to the University of Minnesota.
The 2010 NHL Draft will take place June 25-26 in Los Angeles, CA. The USHL has a total of 37 players who skated in the USHL this past season. Click here to view the entire list.
The Stampede return to the ice tonight in Game 2 of their West Division semi-final series against Fargo. The Force lead the best-of-five series 1-0 heading into tonight's game in Fargo. Game time is 7:35 PM.
