With Tommy Maxwell serving time for hooking at 14:07, the Bulldogs capitalized on their second powerplay. David Desharnais' shot deflected off Yannick Weber and over Machesney for a 4-1 score. Moments later, Hunter Bishop batted in his own rebound to extend the Bulldogs lead to 5-1.
