Newark Bears News Release

Newark, N.J. - Despite the strong winds and rain on Saturday, more than 400 people came out the Newark Bears' 2010 Job Fair and National Anthem auditions.

"We are thrilled with the turnout for our job fair," said General Manager R.C. Reuteman. "It is our pleasure to be able to offer the citizens within our community a chance to gain worthwhile employment. They will become a part of the Bears family for many years to come."

The Bears saw crowds of job seekers arrive prior to the scheduled 10 a.m. start time. With pens and applications in hand, anxious applicants waited patiently for their opportunity to interview for game-day and seasonal opportunities with the Bears. Applicants also interviewed for concessions positions with Centerplate, who will serve as the concessionaire at Bears and Eagles Riverfront Stadium.

"We are totally committed, as is our concession partners Centerplate to establishing ourselves as a premier employer in this market," added Reuteman. "We want to thank all who braved the weather elements in search of our success in the 2010 season."

On the other side of the building, hopeful singers performed an a cappella version of the National Anthem in front of a panel of judges that included Tom Cetnar 3rd, a partner in Bears Baseball, LLC. More than 35 solo singers and even a saxophonist auditioned and performed brilliantly.

The Newark Bears are a member of the eight-team Atlantic League of Professional Baseball and play their home games at Bears and Eagles Riverfront Stadium. For ticket or sponsorship information, call 973-848-1000, or visit www.newarkbears.com.
