
Hollyfield's 3's Earn Overtime Win for RazorSharks

In dramatic fashion, The RazorSharks won their sixth straight game as Derik Hollyfield hit the three point shot that sent the game into overtime and then sealed the game in overtime sinking another three pointer beating the Rainmen 115-113.
The RazorSharks got behind early 31-20 as Halifax's Eric Crookshank scored nine first quarter points. The Rainmen continued to lead in the second quarter while Rochester turned the ball over 11 times in the first half. Tony Bennett led Halifax with 14 points. Jerice Crouch and Keith Friel each had eight for the `Sharks gong into the second half down 59-47.
After being down by as many as 17 points, the RazorSharks tied the game at 77-77 on a three pointer from Derik Hollyfield. Keith Friel scored 10 third quarter points including two three-pointers as the quarter ended tied 79-79. Hollyfield scored seven fourth quarter points including the game tying three-pointer with 36 seconds left that sent the game into overtime.
In overtime, Derik Hollyfield put the game away when he hit the three pointer that proved to be the game winning shot giving Rochester a 115-113 win. Hollyfield finished with 16 points.
It was the first overtime game played at the Blue Cross Arena for the RazorSharks. Keith Friel led the `Sharks with 24 points. Rochester (11-3) had five players score in double figures including Jerice Crouch (19), Lincoln Smith (12) and Eric Walton (10).
Eric Crookshank recorded a double-double scoring 19 points and grabbing 20 rebounds. Tony Bennett led the Rainmen (9-5) in scoring with 33 points. Eric Gilchrese added 14, while Desmond Ferguson and Gary Ervin contributed 13 and 10 points respectively. It was Halifax's third loss in a row and third consecutive loss in overtime.
