Week Three of the IFL season features a brewing rivalry between new Lonestar West Division opponents. The Amarillo Venom will make their IFL debut, former members of the now defunct af2, and will travel to Odessa to take on the West Texas Roughnecks. The Venom are coming off a disappointing 3-13 record in 2009 and are looking to make an impact in the IFL. The Roughnecks sport a record of 1-0 in the young 2010 season. Last week the team won an exciting game against the Abilene Ruff Riders. The Roughnecks were faced with a 30-13 deficit at halftime. A second half rally by the team closed the scoring gap to 33-29. Abilene lined up for a lead extending FG with 1:52 remaining in the 4th quarter. Roughnecks WR Johnny Anderson blocked the attempt and LB Eric Henri recovered the ball in the end zone to give the Roughnecks a 36-33 win. Anderson and Henri shared Week 2 Special Teams Player of Week honors for their efforts.

The Kent Predators home opener for the 2010 season will be against the Fairbanks Grizzlies. It has been a rocky start for the expansion Predators, losing 2 straight against division opponents. The Grizzlies are riding high after starting the season 2-0. Last week the Grizzlies played in the longest game in IFL history as they edged the Tri-Cities Fever 69-67 in 4 OT's. DB Johnell Brown was awarded Week 2 Def. Player of the Week.

They defeated the Corpus Christi Hammerheads in Week One of the season 26-18.

The Chicago Slaughter travel to take on the Richmond Revolution in Week Three. The Slaughter had a bye in Week Two after suffering a heartbreaking loss to the Rochester Raiders in Week One, 49-47. The Revolution are coming off an impressive road win against the Bloomington Extreme in Week Two. Former Virginia Tech QB Bryan Randall led the team to victory throwing for 240 yards and 7 TD's.

The Green Bay Blizzard will travel to take on the Bloomington Extreme in this Week Three match-up of Central North Division rivals. The Blizzard are led by Week Two Offensive Player of the Week QB Jake Phillips who passed for 241 yards and 8 TD's against the Sioux City Bandits. The Extreme look to pull to.500 after losing to the expansion Richmond Revolution in Week Two 49-37.

The Beef were defeated by the Sioux Fall Storm in the Week Two IFL Game of the Week 54-47. A win against the Bandits will go a long way in jump starting the Beef's 2010 season.

The Sioux Falls Storm travel to take on the Wichita Wild in a battle between Central West Division rivals. The Storm are coming off a 54- 47 victory against the Omaha Beef in Week Two's IFL Game of the Week. The Wild come off a bye after defeating the La Crosse Spartans in Week One 57-20. 2009 Off. The team is looking to start the season 3-0 against Pacific North Division opponents.

The Austin Turfcats make their IFL debut in Week Three as they travel to take on Lonestar East Division opponents the Corpus Christi Hammerheads. The Turfcats come to the IFL from the af2. The Hammerheads come off a Week Two bye after losing to the Arkansas Diamonds in Week One 26-18. Both teams will look to get into the win column in a battle for Texas state bragging rights.
