
New Jersey Jackals' Myron Leslie Sold To New York

DURHAM, NC - The Can-Am League announced today that the contract of New Jersey Jackals INF Myron Leslie has been purchased by the New York Yankees. The league has had three players sold to major league organizations within a week (Eric Gagne - Los Angeles Dodgers & Stuart Pomeranz - Colorado Rockies).
Leslie had a solid season for New Jersey hitting.272 with 18 home runs, 75 RBIs and 86 hits. He finished second in the Can-Am in RBIs, on-base percentage (.410) and runs scored (71), fourth in home runs and fifth in slugging percentage (.494). The Florida native was a two-time Batter of the Week (July 26 & August 23), the June Batter of the Month and named to the Postseason All-Star Team.
The 27-year-old was an eighth round selection of the Oakland A's in 2004. Leslie played five seasons in the A's farm system before coming to the Jackals last season.
