The Dayton Gems met the Fort Wayne Komets tonight on the home ice of Hara Arena. With only 40 seconds of the 1st period played the Komets took the lead and scored the only goal of the period. Fort Wayne would start the next period scoring only1:35 into the 2nd. The Gems would get on the board when Tim Hartung found the net with the help of A. J. MacLean and Captain Greg Labinski on a powerplay with less than 6 minutes left in the period. Fort Wayne would score again in the 3rd period and Dayton would answer only 30 seconds later. The final would be Fort Wayne 3 - Dayton 2. The Gems record is now 20 - 28 - 3 -1.
This Wednesday the Gems travel to Bloomington for a 8:05pm face off against the Prairie Thunder. Fans can listen or watch the B2 network with Gems announcer Tom Michaels at the Gems website: .www.daytongems.com

The 1st 1000 fans will receive the 2nd of 4 sets of official Gems Trading Cards sponsored by Color Q of Miamisburg. Join the Gems for an evening no one will want to miss.
Saturday, February 27th, when the Gems take on the Quad City Mallards at Hara Arena at 730pM, is Trotwood Community Night. The Gems welcome friends, families, businesses and local groups from Trotwood to support their communities. Group seating is available. Trotwood Madison schools are encouraged to participate. This is a special city night sponsored by the Trotwood Parks and Recreation Department. A portion of all presale tickets purchased will benefit the Parks and Recreation Department.
