
Rio Grande Valley's Harris Named Player Of The Month

NEW YORK, Feb. 1, 2010 - Mike Harris of the Rio Grande Valley Vipers has been named NBA Development League Player of the Month for games played in January, 2010. Harris is the second Viper to earn the monthly honor this season, and was also named NBA D-League Player of the Week on Jan. 19.
In 11 games for the Vipers, the 6-6 forward averaged 27.6 points, 11.9 rebounds and 1.5 assists while shooting 60 percent (116-of-195) from the field and leading Rio Grande Valley to an 11-3 record. During the Month, Harris scored in double figures in all 11 games and notched nine double-doubles. He scored an NBA D-League season-high 48 points to go with 24 rebounds in a 126-116 overtime victory over the Dakota Wizards on Jan. 17 in Bismarck.
Also receiving consideration for NBA D-League Player of the Month honors for January were Springfield's Morris Almond; Austin's Malik Hairston, while on assignment from the San Antonio Spurs; Austin's Dwayne Jones; Fort Wayne's Rob Kurz; Albuquerque's Carlos Powell; Tulsa's Mustafa Shakur; Iowa's Curtis Stinson; and Sioux Falls' Reggie Williams.
