
Gems In The Community - Gems Tour Wright Patterson Air Force Base

Dayton Gems News Release
The Dayton Gems hockey team toured Wright Patterson Air Force Base on Tuesday of this week. The Gems were the guest of Colonel Brad Spacy, commander of the 88th.Air Base Wing and Senior Master Sergeant John Hoffman, command chief. Their 1st stop was awar fighting briefing from the Colonel.
From there it was onto aFire Arms Training Simulator (FATS) where everyone took a turnshooting atthe bad guys. They also saw the displays of equipment for medical, security forces, deployment center, explosive ordinance disposal - mechanical robot and they all received their own personal dog tags.
There was a simulated attack at the Warfighter Training Center and a each got a turn to try shooting the guns. The afternoon ended with a demonstration of the workingdetonation dogs.
The Coach presented Colonel Spacy with a team jersey autographed by the entire team and the Colonel gave Coach a special coin that represented the 88th Air Wing. The Gems thank Wright Patt, Master Sergeant Hoffman, Colonel Spacyand base public affairs department for inviting them to the base for an exciting afternoon and a chance to really learn more about their adopted community.
