SAINT PAUL, MN - The National Lacrosse League's (NLL) Minnesota Swarm have announced that defenseman Kevin Fines has been traded to the Rochester Knighthawks in exchange for a conditional sixth round draft pick in the 2010 NLL Entry Draft.

"With the acquisition of Scott Self this offseason, we were able to add depth to our defensive right-handed position. Scott can also take draws, which made Kevin expendable," said General Manager Marty O'Neill.

Fines, 28, recorded eleven points (6g, 5a), eight PIM, 65 loose balls and won.394% of face-offs (50/127) in twelve contests with the Swarm last season. Minnesota selected the native of Holland Landing, ON with the tenth overall selection in the 2008 Chicago Shamrox Dispersal Draft. In 70 career contests over five NLL seasons, Fines has tallied 93 points (53g, 40a), 85 PIM, and 239 loose balls with Minnesota, Chicago, Toronto and San Jose.

The Swarm will kick off their sixth season at the Xcel Energy Center on Friday, Jan. 15 at 7:35 p.m. CST against the defending NLL Champion Calgary Roughnecks. Lower level single game tickets can be purchased for as little as $24 to all eight home games and are available online at ticketmaster.com or by calling 888-MN-SWARM.
