Craig Schira's goal with 25 seconds remaining in the game helped force a tie and earned the B-Sens a point in their match versus the baby Pens. However, Wilkes-Barre's Dustin Jeffrey was able to score just 28 seconds into overtime to lift the Penguins to a 3-2 victory. Martin St. Pierre also recorded a goal for Binghamton, while Andy Chiodo made 28 saves as he manned the Binghamton net against his former team.

The B-Sens met the Crunch in the fifth of nine meetings between these East Division rivals and was it a wild one! Captain Denis Hamel led the offensive charge for the B-Sens recording two goals in the match. Schira, St. Pierre, Josh Hennessy and Erik Condra also hit the Syracuse net. St. Pierre added three assists for a four point night. The teams in their entirety tussled on ice at the end of two periods of play after Crunch goaltender Kevin Lalande caught Binghamton's Drew Bannister with his stick as the teams made way to the locker rooms. The result was 106 penalties total issued between the two teams at the 20 minute mark of the second period. 138 penalty minutes total in the game. Chris Holt manned the net for Binghamton turning away 43 of 46 shots faced.

The B-Sens trek eight hours to Norfolk, Virginia for a pair of games versus the Admirals this weekend. This will be Binghamton's second and final trip to Norfolk during the 2009-10 regular season. The B-Sens have never swept back-to-back games in Norfolk and only hold an 8-19-0-1-1 record against the Admirals in the Scope. Norfolk currently trails Binghamton by only three points (27 points) in the East Division. The B-Sens hope to control Norfolk's Brandon Bochenski, a former Senator. Bochenski has recorded two goals and two assists for four points versus the B-Sens so far this season. Bochenski leads all Admirals in points with 14 goals and 13 assists for 27 points in 29 games played so far this season.
SENS SNIPPITS
Rookie defenseman Craig Schira earned the B-Sens' Reebok/AHL Player of the Week nomination following last week's games. In two games played Schira scored two goals for two points and took six shots on net. Schira is ranked fourth overall in scoring among B-Sens defenseman with four goals and four assists for eight points in 23 games played. He and Tomas Kudelka lead all B-Sens defenseman in plus-minus with plus-seven.
Martin St. Pierre and Derek Smith each registered an assist on the power play in Binghamton's 6-3 win over the Crunch on Saturday. Both players lead the B-Sens in power play points with ten. St. Pierre has recorded two goals and eight assists while Binghamton has had the man-advantage this season. Smith has tallied three goals and seven assists on the power play.
The Binghamton Senators are selling tickets for the upcoming Outdoor Classic versus the Syracuse Crunch at the Grandstand at the New York State Fairground on Feb. 20, 2010. Tickets are $30 and $40. B-SENS BRINGING IT HOME TO THE COMMUNITY...
Monday, Dec. 14 at 4:15 p.m. B-Sens players will be delivering gifts at the Clear Channel studios in Vestal, N.Y. for the families they adopted through Mix 103.3's Christmas Wish Letter program. The B-Sens have donated their own time and funds to provide two local families in need with basic necessities and gifts for the holiday season. The appearance in closed to the public.
