Cats want Rivalry Cup win:

An end to the winning streak of the Saint John Sea Dogs is foremost in the minds of the Moncton Wildcats. The two teams clash in the third Rivalry Cup game of the season on Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock at the Coliseum. Currently the Sea Dogs lead in Cup points 5.5 to 2. A Wildcats win would narrow that margin to half a point. There are other special events during the game.

***The Mortgage Makers Inc through the Military Resource Centre are providing tickets for members of the Armed Forces and their families.

***The team of Moncton Firefighters, who recently won the World Combat Challenge will be guests at the game, our chance to congratulate and thank them for the service they provide to our community.

***Some lucky fan could win $50,000. in a special SCORO shoot to win, you'll need to have a 50/50 ticket to qualify.

***Renowned Maritime singer Naomi Striemer will be providing entertainment during an intermission.

***The Moncton Novice North Stars, part of the Tim Bit program which is celebrating its 25th Anniversary next month, will be playing during the first intermission. With every goal scored, fans will have a chance to win prizes.

***Season Ticket Holders and members of the Kitty Kats Club will Skate with the Cats following the game. Everyone is reminded to sign their release form, it can be picked up at Fan Services during the game. Tim Horton's will be serving up hot chocolate.

Dan Boudreau was the winner of the Wildtown T-Shirt for correctly answering our question about the Wildcats player selected to attend the World Juniors try out camp, the answer was Brandon Gormley. Today's question, who is the Wildcats mascot? Send your answer to [email protected] by midnight tonight and you could be our next winner. We'll announce the name in Tuesday's Coffee Cup.

Art on Ice get's province wide publicity:

Wednesday's edition of the Times&Transcript carried a great photo of the Art on Ice program. Supported by the Wildcats, the art creations by students of the five Community Schools in District 2 will be on display at all home games up to and including the big game against the Sea Dogs on New Year's Eve. You can also see the children's great creativity downtown at Assumption Place and the Blue Cross Atrium. Silent auction bids on the Art Works have now topped the $1,000.00 mark, the funds will go to special programs at all five schools. Visit the Roar Store before Christmas:

The Roar Store now has Wild Willie dolls and Wildcat blankets, new for Christmas gift giving. Roar Store hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 11 to 2 and special Saturday hours of 11 to 4 right up to Christmas and on game days, they're open two hours before the opening face off.

Catch a Legends snack before the game:

Legends Restaurant will open two hours before Sunday's game. Located up the pedway behind Section 16 or via the back parking lot, Legends offers great food

before the game and during the intermissions. By the way the Chicken Fricot is awesome.

Player of the Game:

Player of the game for next Tuesday's game against the Halifax Mooseheads is veteran Pierre-Marc Lessard. A 20 year-old, four year veteran, he's been used as a penalty kill specialist with the Cats especially in the past two seasons. The Booster Club will be selling tickets on Pierre-Marc's jersey available at the Booster Club booth.

Cat of the Day:

Congratulations to the teams and organizers of the 15th annual Irving Oil Ladies basketball tournament which started yesterday at the Coliseum and runs through to the championship game at 3pm on Saturday. Teams from the three Maritime provinces including local squads from Riverview High, Bernice MacNaughton, Harrison Trimble and l'Odysee are in the competition.
