PORT HURON, MI - The Port Huron Icehawks announced that they have signed University of Michigan graduate Brandon Naurato. To make room on the roster, right wing Mike Bray was waived. Per team policy, details of the deal were not disclosed.Naurato (6-0, 190 lbs) played four seasons at the University of Michigan (2005-2009) under legendary coach Red Berenson and graduated with 64 points (32g, 32a) and 96 penalty minutes. The forward helped lead the Wolverines to Central Collegiate Hockey Association regular season and tournament championships in 2008, as well as a Frozen Four appearance.
Naurato signed with the Stockton Thunder in the ECHL following graduation and played in two regular season games and ten playoff contests. He helped the Thunder to the divisional finals of the Kelly Cup playoffs with two goals and one assist.
The 24-year old Livonia, Michigan native started the 2009-10 season with the Toledo Walleye in the ECHL, where he had two assists in five games. His teammates in Toledo included current Icehawks Steven Oleksy and Derek Patrosso.

The Icehawks kicked off a six game road trip yesterday versus the Quad City Mallards. The holiday tilt continues with games in Bloomington on Friday and Fort Wayne on Saturday.
