IHL Game #52 Postponed
Published on November 26, 2009 under International Hockey League 2 (IHL 2) News Release
ROCHESTER, MI--- The International Hockey League (IHL) announced Wednesday that IHL Game #52 Muskegon Lumberjacks at Flint Generals has been postponed due to building issues. The announcement was made after Brad Jones, Vice President of Hockey Operations for the International Hockey League, determined that the ice surface was unplayable.
"The primary concern for the IHL was the safety of the players," stated Jones. "It was my determination that the ice surface was not safe for play. The Flint Generals made the building aware early in the morning, but unfortunately the Perani maintenance crew began the process too late, otherwise the game would have gone on as scheduled."
The Flint Generals will travel to Fort Wayne tomorrow to face-off against the Fort Wayne Komets and stay on the road for a contest in Dayton Friday night. The Generals will return home for a Sunday game against the Muskegon Lumberjacks for a 4:00 p.m. face-off.
